PREP & PRIME

Now that we know how to prepare skin for make up application, let’s prime.

There is a wide range of primers on the market. The role of a primer is to "mattify" the skin, improve coverage and make cosmetics last longer.

According to your skin type you need to choose between silicon and water based primer.  I would recommend silicon based products for oily skin as it controls oil and creates a barrier between skin and foundation.

"Water based products are good for drier skin to assure enough moisture."

We all know water and silicon (oil) don’t mix so make sure you use same base foundation on top of primer.

These two steps before make up application are called PREP and PRIME. By doing this as a routine before each make up application you will ensure your skin stays healthy and your make up will last longer.

Homemade Skin Cleanser

As I promised, here is great recipe for homemade cleanser from Make up artist Lucia.

We decided that this month will be dedicated to skin care.

First part from our series has been already published , in case you missed out you can find it here.

Homemade Cleanser Ingredients:

Don’t trust chemicals? Here is a tip on a homemade cleanser for all skin types.

Homemade cleanser ingredients:

- 1/8 cup ground almonds (use coffee grinder for grinding)
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Almond oil is a rich source of vitamin E that gives your skin the proper nourishment.

Milk is a natural cleanser that leaves your skin look fair and smooth. Lemon not only cleanses but also retains the natural skin complexion.

However be careful with acidic products like lemon juice. Stronger acidity turns product into a peeling agent!

Once you try it, we would love to hear from you.
Leave us a comment and let us know, how you like it!

Wish you "Stylishly Embroidered" day:)

Healthy skin Formula

Have you ever wondered why your make up doesn’t last?
Do you have breakouts, dry patches or redness?

Let’s talk about Skin Care.

It is very important to know your skin type. Accordingly, you choose products for oily, dry or combination skin.  Before applying any make up make sure you prepare your skin. Here is an easy step by step guide how to prepare your skin for make up application.

Wash your face with clear lukewarm water. Apply cleanser which suits you best. There are a lot of forms of cleansers on the market, I personally prefer gel form. Apply gel on wet face in circular motion, rinse thoroughly. (Cleansers with grape or cucumber extracts work wonders) Dry your face with soft cotton towel.

Tone. Toner helps closing open pores, it gives your skin healthy dose of what it needs to look younger, fresher and smoother. There are toners to suit every skin type.

Exfoliate if required. Exfoliation is very important for skin’s recovery process. It gets rid of dead skin cells and impurities clogging pores. Gentle exfoliation is recommended once a week.

Moisturize well. I recommend you ladies to go to skin specialists for skin mapping. This will tell you your skin type and recent condition, so you know exactly which products to use, including moisturizers.

This routine is called CTM. Cleanse, tone, moisturize.

Make sure to always remove make up and other impurities and bacteria from your face before sleep for healthy and vital skin!

Great tip for homemade peeling mask

He guys,

Coming back to you with a great tip for  another homemade peeling mask.

I got run out of the oat flakes and used sugar instead. I had only white one as I don't use sugar often. You can also use brown sugar if you have it at home.

I was looking for peeling mask for dry skin to remove old skin but moisturize it at the same time.

      Sugar                  Honey                 Olive oil

 Ingredients:

1 table spoon of white/ brown sugar
1 table spoon of honey
1 table spoon of olive oil

Mixed all ingredients together and gently massage your face. Rinse with water.
Instead of honey u can also use mixed fruit for example apricot or strawberries. When you have oily skin use mixed cucumber instead of olive oil.

Let me know if you like it. I will repeat it every week as my skin feels fresh and thanks to olive oil nicely moisturized.

Choosing make up foundation

By Christina PR , professional make up artist in Dubai

"There is no wrong or correct , it is the way it makes you feel."

In case you have no idea how to choose a foundation type and  shade you should have in mind:

  • Foundation can’t create miracles only by itself, an exfoliated and well moisturized skin is the best base for the foundation to bring out  the best result.
  • Liquid foundation works better for medium to dry skin, thought there are couple of liquid foundations that work equal good to oily skin.
  • The closest the color is to the natural color of the skin the more  natural the result would be.
  • We never forget to apply  and naturally  erase the foundation till almost the base of  the neck and be very and extremely careful with the areas around the hair.
  • We can use our hands to apply foundation , a foundation brush or a sponge.
  • Using  a brush will create us the more natural result .
  • A sponge is used when the foundation is more creamy  so we will not loose too much quantity  absorbed.

  • Sensitive areas, like the eyes and lips, a more light and bright foundation is recommended ( concealer).
  • In case of pigmentation or acne a more covering make up can be used or even concealer in affected areas.
In case of any questions please leave the comment under the article and Christina will come back to you.
